Anxiety Support in Hythe

Anxiety takes many forms. There is what we class as “healthy Anxiety;” going for a job interview, for example. It can help us to give our best. Likewise, when meeting new people, some anxiety is totally normal and shows we want to make a good impression. Unfortunately, anxiety also has an unhealthy side, where our anxiety stops us going for the job we want and stops us from meeting new people. Taking the first step to knowing that your anxiety is stopping you from being who you want to be is a good start. Many people don't take the time to listen to their inner voice or even realise that it is their anxiety hindering their future life goals.

Breaking A Vicious Circle

Changing how we feel is the difficult part. In fact, change makes even the best of us anxious. How do we break that vicious circle? It's easy to see why it is a vicious circle – if we don't have the strength to fight our demons, we never get off that wheel. Thoughts and feelings result in behaviours that are not beneficial to our peace of mind. The more we use the false behaviours, the more embedded they become, the more they tend to feel normal.

How Do We Do It?

The first thing to look at would be our trigger: what is it that we fear? This can be a difficult question to answer, and leads to several more; do we actually know what it is? Is it real or is it imagined? Through my therapy in Hythe, we may start with your behaviour and then work backwards. This way, we can start to see a picture of the thoughts and feelings that go with the unwanted/out of date behaviour.
